Tour Description
We invite you to take advantage of this unique and affordable opportunity to tour the beauty of Mauritius’ southeast coast from the comfort of a secure catamaran. The Ile aux Cerfs Catamaran Cruise is a full-day activity lasting from either 07:00 (with pickup) or 09:00 (no pickup) to 16:00. We can arrange a pickup and dropoff for any accommodation in Mauritius. If you prefer to drive yourself, we will give you directions to the starting point.
Wake up to the thrill of the rising sun on your skin and the sea breeze in your hair as our speedboat whisks you from the launch at Trou d’Eau Douce to the Grand River South East (GRSE) Waterfall. Enjoy the peaceful river and the power of cascading water in this remote location only accessible by boat. You may even glimpse the local fruit bats and monkeys that make their home here. Your speedboat will then return you to Trou d’Eau Douce to embark on your catamaran cruise.
Your catamaran will travel along Mauritius’ east coast on its way to the Ile. Your skipper will stop at several points to give you a chance to dive into the warm turquoise water and snorkel. Each stop guarantees a lovely view of the diverse tropical fish and their colourful coral homes. Snorkeling gear and swim jackets are provided, but you are allowed to bring your own also.
When you arrive at the private leisure island of Ile aux Cerfs, your crew will prepare a fresh barbecue lunch for you to enjoy aboard your catamaran. The menu includes the following: BBQ chicken, fish, and sausages; french fries, pasta salad and other salads (including vegetarian options); water, juice, soda, local rum, and beer.
Discover Ile aux Cerfs at your leisure; there are pursuits here which cater to nearly any taste. Explore the pristine, white sandy beaches or hike secluded nature trails. Enjoy a friendly contest through one of the several water activities available. Or just relax by the seaside and work on your tan. The choice is entirely yours. After a few hours, the catamaran will transport you back to Trou d’eau Douce while you reflect on an unforgettable day.
What happens if the trip is canceled due to inclement weather?
We will inform you as soon as possible, and work with you to reschedule your outing for a future date that is convenient for you. If it’s not possible to reschedule, we will refund any payment or deposit you have made in full.
What should I bring?
Sunscreen and other sun protection, a swimsuit, and spare clothes are highly recommended. Snorkeling gear and swim jackets are provided free of charge, but a wetsuit is also optional and recommended.
Is this cruise safe for children and babies?
This cruise is absolutely safe for all ages. Most of the trip occurs in a lagoon known for its lack of high winds and swells. We regularly host clients as young as 6 months, and we take your security seriously--our catamarans meet all security standards, including free lifejackets.
What are the activities that I can find at Ile aux Cerfs?
There are several providers on the Ile who offer parasailing, tubing, and an undersea walk. These activities require you to pay an additional fee per activity and are not part of the catamaran cruise.

Where You'll Start
Reviews can only be left by Mauritiusly customers after they have completed the catamaran cruise.
Ile aux Cerfs is a place that you will remember forever. The view is breathtaking and the sense of scale is vast. It’s a private island, so much of it is untouched and truly pristine. Views of Mauritius across the lagoon that you will not see anywhere else.
We stayed in Flic en Flac and so really appreciate the rate for chauffeur service. A local taxi would charge quite a lot more. Plus the car was neat and well-maintained, safe and the driver acted as a guide to make the trip lots of fun.
The whole day was magic from start to finish. The waterfall was so peaceful, the speedboat was fun, the catamaran and snorkeling divine, the island a cut above. It’s off the beaten track and you will definitely feel it. Great sights throughout the trip.
